William Wellman Jr. (born 20 January 1937; age 88) is an actor who played a Bajoran officer in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine sixth season episode "Favor the Bold".

Wellman also portrayed an older, embittered Charles Evans in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, directed by Tim Russ and co-starring Russ, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, Alan Ruck, Garrett Wang, J.G. Hertzler, Chase Masterson, Gary Graham, and many other Star Trek veterans.

Biography

Wellman was born in Los Angeles, California. His father, director William A. Wellman, directed the first movie he starred in; he later starred in three more of his father's movies.

In 1958, he appeared alongside Biff Elliot, Barry Atwater, Ken Lynch, Paul Comi, Bert Remsen and Clarence Williams III in Pork Chop Hill, which featured music by Leonard Rosenman. In 1963 he acted with Terri Garr in A Swingin' Affair. Also in 1963 he starred with Star Trek actor DeForest Kelley in Gunfight at Comanche Creek. In the 1970s he performed in Which Way to the Front? (1970, with George Takei), It's Alive (1974, with Michael Ansara), The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover (1977, with George D. Wallace). A year later, in 1978, he starred with Jane Wyatt in A Love Affair: The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig Story. In 1994 he starred with Andrew Robinson in The Puppet Masters.

Wellman also guest starred in Alias, JAG, The Practice, Alien Nation and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
