Westview Press was an American academic book publisher specializing in scholarly social science texbooks that in 1996 published Enterprise Zones: Critical Positions on Star Trek.

Founded in 1975 by Frederick A. Praeger (who had earlier founded Praeger Publishers), it was acquired by investor Stephen C. Swid's SCS Communications in 1990. [1] HarperCollins Publishers acquired the company in 1995 [2] and sold it to the Perseus Book Group in 1998. [3] The Perseus Book Group was subsequently acquired by the Hachette Book Group in 2016. [4] In 2017, academic publisher Taylor & Francis acquired the assets of Westview Press from Hachette Book Group. [5]
