Volis' species were a light purple-skinned humanoid species who were prominent members of the Federation from at least the mid-23rd century.

History

In the alternate timeline, 2263, a child of this species passed Hikaru Sulu and Pavel Chekov as they disembarked the Enterprise and entered Starbase Yorktown. (Star Trek Beyond)

In 2268, a female delegate attended the Babel Conference. (TOS: "Journey to Babel")

At least one member of this species was seated in the Federation Council in 2286. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

Members of this race were present at the Khitomer Conference in 2293. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

Additionally, a female command division ensign belonging to this species was transferred to the Cerritos later that year. (LD: "No Small Parts")

Physiology

Members of this species had the characteristic purple skin color. Some of them had mildly purple hair (colors varied) and yellow irises. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
