Virgil Ross (8 August 1907–15 May 1996; age 88) [1] [2] was a legendary, award winning cartoonist who was employed at Filmation studios as an animator on Star Trek: The Animated Series. With a motion picture career spanning almost seven decades, Ross worked in the industry from at least 1930 to 1996, with the bulk of his career was with Warner Brothers during the Golden age of American animation – where he was instrumental in the design and creation of Bugs Bunny – until WB's animation studio dissolved in 1964, and he joined Filmation. He was a member of The Animation Guild Local 839 IATSE.
