In 2380, the bridge crew of the USS Cerritos was visited by Q, who seemingly transported four of the ship's senior officers – Captain Carol Freeman, Commander Jack Ransom, Doctor T'Ana, and Lieutenant Shaxs – to a semi-barren planetoid. Once there, Q challenged them to solve a puzzle of some kind so they could "prove that Humanity [was] worth saving". (LD: "Veritas")
