Frigate crew

The crew of a Kinjal frigate were murdered by Bosaal so that he could steal a polaron modulator from them and thereby effect an escape from The Void. Unsatisfied with his claim to have traded for it, Kathryn Janeway initially suspected he'd merely stolen the device from them and expressed her desire to return it to those who owned it. Upon learning that he had killed the crew, she refused to use the modulator, as doing so would make the crew of USS Voyager accessories to their murders. (VOY: "The Void")
