USS Muroc

The USS Muroc was a Federation starship operated by Starfleet during the mid-23rd century.

In the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-57, this ship was on patrol duty in the same sector as the USS Gagarin and the USS Hoover when they were simultaneously ambushed by Klingon warships. The loss of all three ships resulted in 462 Starfleet casualties. (DIS: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum")

This ship was named for Muroc Air Force Base, which was renamed to Edwards Air Force Base. (Information from John Eaves)
