USS Bellerophon (NCC-62048)

The USS Bellerophon (NCC-62048) was a 24th century Federation Nebula-class starship operated by Starfleet.

In 2366, the Bellerophon participated in the battle against the Borg at Wolf 359. It engaged the attacking Borg cube, alongside the starship USS Yamaguchi, while the cube had tractored the USS Saratoga. It was ultimately destroyed in the battle along with thirty-eight other starships. (DS9: "Emissary")

In 2384, the Bellerophon appeared on the bridge chart of the USS Dauntless logistics strategic data display. (PRO: "Supernova, Part 1")

It is unclear why some of these ships are listed on the bridge panel as most are known lost/destroyed starships. A clear view of the information panel was provided by Dominique Rossier of Wardenlight Studio. [1]

Background information

The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 470 stated this ship was "named for the ship from Forbidden Planet."

The registry, which was originally published in the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 470, was later confirmed by a photograph posted by Doug Drexler. [2](X)
