UCLA
UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) is a university. It was mentioned on a medical file prepared for the Star Trek: Enterprise third season episode "Carpenter Street".
According to the medical questionnaire, Jef Duncan was examined by medical staff at this university prior to him donating blood at the Porter Street blood bank.
While a number of different forms were seen on screen, none of them were readable or even especially recognizable, so it remains unclear if the information about Duncan was seen in the episode. The questionnaire can be seen at YourProps.com. [1]
Furthermore, according to Robert Hewitt Wolfe, Hedrikspool Province was named after his freshman dormitory at UCLA, Hedrick Hall. [2].
Background information
After the cancellation of Star Trek: The Original Series in 1969, series creator Gene Roddenberry decided to donate al the production files he had amassed over the show's run to the UCLA. [3] The massive 35-box collection became part of the university's "Library Special Collections, Performing Arts", [4] open for public consultation, though the university has noted in 2015 that up until then very few people had actually made use of the opportunity. [5] Nonetheless, son Rod Roddenberry's the Roddenberry Archive is in conjuncture with "Dr. Trek" Larry Nemecek in the process of remedying the oversight through the longrunning The Trek Files podcast series as of the 2018.
