Tween

A "tween" was a term for an individual whose age was "between" that of a child and a teenager known as preadolescence.

When Adira Tal (actually age sixteen) was part of the United Earth Defense Force boarding party going through the USS Discovery's equipment, Lt. Commander Paul Stamets referred to Tal as a "tween menace." (DIS: "People of Earth")

Discussing Tal's trust in him, Stamets later told Hugh Culber that he'd never had time to be a "tween's confidante". (DIS: "Scavengers")
