Toll

A toll was a price paid to allow passage through a region.

In 2366, prior to negotiations for rights to the Barzan wormhole, William T. Riker suggested that were the Ferengi to gain the rights instead of the Federation, they would collect tolls from users of the wormhole. (TNG: "The Price")
