Tim McGrath is an actor and filmmaker who played a Ventu in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "Natural Law". As a background actor he received no credit for this appearance but was identified by the call sheets of the episode.

McGrath attended the University of Southern California. Beside his appearance on Star Trek, he also worked on the film The Second Degree (2004), the short comedy The P.A. (2008, with Lou Wagner), the horror thriller Turquoise (2011, with May Wang), and the drama Seventy Times Seven (2012).

In 2013, he wrote, co-directed, produced, and starred in the short film The Hive. He also wrote, produced, and starred in the romance 10 Things I Hate About Life (2014, with William O. Campbell, Tom Schanley, and Nico Woulard). Further projects as director, writer, producer, and actor include the short project Someone's Gonna Die (2013) and the action film Mule Kids (2012).

On 20 July 2012, McGrath was among the survivors of the mass shooting at the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado. To compensate with his feelings and work on this trauma, he wrote the book "Diary of a Mass Shooting" and wrote, directed, and acted the film Surviving Theater 9 (2019, with Corbin Bernsen, Richard Fancy, and Donnell Turner). He previously created the short documentary Aurora Shooting in 2004.
