The Princess and the Pea
"The Princess and the Pea" was a fairy tale from Denmark, written by Hans Christian Andersen. The story was about a young woman (the princess) whose claim to royalty was tested by her sensitivity to a pea placed on her bed.
In 2259, during a recounting of events in her quarters, Cadet Uhura said to Number One that she needed her sleeping area to be pitch-black. She said that she was like "The Princess and the Pea" in that way. (SNW: "Ghosts of Illyria")
