The Diviner (superorganism)

This version of "The Diviner" was a creation of the cilium-like vegetation superorganism that lived on a planet located in the Hirogen star system of the Delta Quadrant that appeared to in the image of Gwyn's father, The Diviner.

It was encountered by Gwyn after she had cut away the root growth that had ensnared the USS Protostar's landing strut and began to board the ship. When this "The Diviner" attempted to convince Gwyn to stay on the planet, and that among other things, how proud he was of her followed by a gesture for a hug, Gwyn saw through the uncharacteristic feedback, snapped out of her momentary trance, and told the creature that it was not her father. "The Diviner" was then encompassed in its own roots and told her to "stay", and as she ran up the shuttlebay hatch bunches of roots bounded after her. (PRO: "Dream Catcher")
