Temp

A temp, short for temporary worker, was an individual whose position was not permanent.

In 2256, Paul Stamets questioned the wisdom of telling Federation prisoner Michael Burnham, who had temporarily been assigned to USS Discovery, the details of his secret research, calling her a temp. (DIS: "Context Is for Kings")
