A Tellarite sonnet was a sonnet created by the Tellarites.

In 2259, when Ensign Nyota Uhura could not remember whether she had transmitted a situation report to the UFP relay, Lieutenant Erica Ortegas quipped: "This is what happens when you stay up translating Tellarite sonnets instead of getting shut-eye." (SNW: "Among the Lotus Eaters")
