Taya (name)

Taya was the feminine form of the name Chakotay.

In 2377, Chakotay suggested the name Taya for B'Elanna Torres and Tom Paris's baby. Upon hearing that the list already had 32 names and counting, he backtracked, suggesting instead that they come up with their own name for the baby, much to Torres' relief. (VOY: "Lineage")
