Talar system was an inhabited planetary system located inside Talarian territory in the Alpha Quadrant.

Stellar system

It was a single star system consisting of a F-type primary.

Planetary system

This system had four planets. In the system's habitable zone, there was the Talarian homeworld. This world was the capital of the Talarian Republic.

Stellar cartography

In 2259, it was listed among several in the region surrounding the Kiley system as being home to a warp-capable civilization. The location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds")

The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. The Talar system was in or near to Talarian space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

This star system was only mentioned in writing.
The name of this system came from the source material used, the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star chart seen in Star Trek: Picard. Information on the system's primary came from Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 37) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385").
