Surrogate chamber

A surrogate chamber was a type of incubator that facilitated the gestation of an embryo that was prematurely apart from its parent.

In 2151, a pregnant Trip Tucker questioned whether the embryo he was carrying could be removed and placed in a surrogate chamber. Doctor Phlox explained that he needed more information about Xyrillian gestation first, as the embryo was " integrated with (his) pericardium". (ENT: "Unexpected")
