A submanifold casting stone was a type of rock that allowed users to broadcast their voices over interstellar distances to other planets, and hear the response in turn.

While performing anomaly consolidation duty on the USS Cerritos in 2381, Ensign Beckett Mariner found and kept a submanifold casting stone from among Lieutenant Shaxs' samples. She, D'Vana Tendi, Sam Rutherford, and Brad Boimler later used it to prank call Armus on Vagra II. (LD: "The Spy Humongous")
