Straitjacket

A straitjacket was an article of clothing used to restrain mental patients.

In 2366, Jean-Luc Picard explained to the Sheliak that the Treaty of Armens was supposed to ease the conflict between the Federation and the Sheliak Corporate, not act as a straitjacket. (TNG: "The Ensigns of Command")
