Stepwell

A stepwell was a type of well with stairs built into its walls to allow direct access to the water.

An ancient stepwell was one of the places in the holographic environment created by Doctor Issa for her son Su'Kal. At the bottom of the stepwell, Su'Kal had constructed totems in front of a double door. The door had been locked shut with chains and with a bone from a creature placed across the handles.

In 3189, an away team from the USS Discovery visited the stepwell after traveling through a forest. (DIS: "Su'Kal")
