Star Trek: The Experience (special)
Star Trek: The Experience is a sixteen-minute special feature released on the VOY Season 1 DVD.
This short about the Star Trek-themed attraction Star Trek: The Experience at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas gives insight and a tour through the attraction and its features.
Vice Presidents Barb Granter (2000-2003) and Joe Reuter (2003-2008) were interviewed and stated that the Hilton wanted a Star Trek-themed attraction, recognizing the power of the brand. That attraction took two and a half years to be finished and cost US$70 million. Len Turner gave a short overview of the ride itself and retail manager David Saul, executive chef Bill Rohm, and waiter Kent W. Viesselman were also interviewed.
Also seen "at work" are the live show actors Tom Deishley as General Motog, an honorary Starfleet vice admiral, Jerad Formby as Quan, a Ferengi businessman, and Michael Hartnett as Three of Six, a member of the Borg Collective.
The short gives a tour through the attraction itself including the Promenade, Quark's Bar and Restaurant, and the "Klingon Encounter" including the video sequences featuring Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Vaughn Armstrong as Korath, and the voice of Patrick Stewart.
The recreated bridge of the USS Enterprise-D was an exact replica of the set at Paramount Pictures and it was also possible to get married on the bridge.
