Staleness

Visions and illusions
(covers information from a vision or illusion)

Staleness was a quality of food, once it had ceased to be fresh.

In 1953, Douglas Pabst and Herbert Rossoff regularly argued about the state of the donuts available in the Incredible Tales of Scientific Wonder office. Rossoff found them stale, while Pabst declared them delicious. Rossoff retorted that they were two days old, to which Pabst countered they no more than six hours old. Rossoff declared he'd resign and work for Galaxy, as they could at least tell the difference between a donut and a doorstop. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
