Space Oddity
"Space Oddity" was a 20th century Earth song.
In 2257, when Paul Stamets asked Sylvia Tilly what her favorite song was, he then asked her to sing it for him. She then began singing "Space Oddity", and Paul then started singing along with her. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")
Lyrics (excerpt)
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much
She knows
This song was written and recorded by "Heroes" songwriter David Bowie (the former husband of Iman) in 1969. The song is about a fictional astronaut named Major Tom. The song was also recorded by William Shatner for his 2011 album Seeking Major Tom.
