Sophocles was an ancient Greek writer living in the 5th century BC. Among his most famous works is Oedipus Rex. (VOY: "Human Error")

In 2153, Sophocles was among the examples of Earth literature provided to the Vissians. Vissian Captain Drennik began reading Sophocles' plays after finishing William Shakespeare. (ENT: "Cogenitor")
