Somkele Iyamah-Idhalama (born 23 March 1988; age 37) is an actress who played a Progenitor in the Star Trek: Discovery fifth season episode "Life, Itself".

Iyamah-Idhalama had been previously cast for a role in the series, but turned it down after catching COVID-19. [1]

She played a Tycho engineer in six episodes of The Expanse (with Shohreh Aghdashloo, Bahia Watson, Vanessa Smythe, Phi Huynh, and Samer Salem) and guested in episodes of series such as Coroner (starring Roger Cross, with Saad Siddiqui, Clare McConnell, Andrea Davis, and Etan Muskat), Murdoch Mysteries (with Clare McConnell and Stephanie Belding), and Titans (developed by Akiva Goldsman).
