Silent treatment

The silent treatment was a deliberate withholding of speech with the goal of snubbing or punishing someone.

In 2151, Captain Jonathan Archer wondered why a alien ship would approach Enterprise NX-01, only to give them the silent treatment. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")

In 2381, Carol Freeman's attempt not to embarrass a Doopler Emissary into dooplercating by saying nothing led him to believe she was giving "them" the silent treatment, which only made it worse. (LD: "An Embarrassment Of Dooplers")
