Shangdi

Shangdi was a red supergiant star in the Shangdi system.

In 2259, the solar research vessel USS Stardiver observed an unusual series of coronal mass ejections from Shangdi, and was attacked by the Gorn immediately after. Only one crewmember, Lieutenant jg Montgomery Scott, escaped. Scott would later speculate that the CMEs had somehow triggered the Gorn's aggression. (SNW: "Hegemony")
