A sensor technician was a technician who specialized in sensor technology.

In 2364, after USS Enterprise-D's sensors detected something off the starboard bow, Natasha Yar assured Captain Jean-Luc Picard that the sensor technicians were working on the problem, that they had identified the anomaly as a system glitch. (TNG: "Justice")
