Semi-divine detachment
Semi-divine detachment referred to the state of mind where an individual overcame their attachment to worldly desires in order to attain a heightened perspective.
When Commander Spock noted that John Gill– a Human who had assumed the role of Führer of the Ekos– who was observed through a window "never moved [..] never once looked up," Captain James T. Kirk attributed it to possibly being anything being "part of the plan, the semi-divine detachment", while Spock, himself, theorized his condition as possibly being "a deep psychosis." Kirk further considered that it could be something "simpler than that", like that he "may be drugged," prompting him to request the assistance of Doctor Leonard McCoy, to make a better determination.
