Security holding area

A security holding area was a place where individuals could remain safely out of the way of danger.

In 2268, Captain James T. Kirk was informed that his crew would be relocated temporarily to a security holding area on Starbase 6, though he wasn't initially told why. He later learned that the relocation was due to USS Enterprise's participation in scientific and war games problems to test the M-5 multitronic unit. (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer")
