O'Brien adjusts secondary phase modulator

The secondary phase modulator was a type of phase modulator used throughout Deep Space 9.

When a harsh noise overwhelmed the science lab aboard the station in 2369, Chief Miles O'Brien concluded to Lieutenant Jadzia Dax, who reported the malfunction, that the source was probably the secondary phase modulator, it was confirmed not to be the EPS converter or intensity grid. O'Brien stated that they hadhad trouble with them the previous week in the main power core. Upon making a few adjustments behind a panel, stopping the noise, but also bringing down the lights as well. (DS9: "Babel")
