Search and seizure

Search and seizure was the practice of searching a location, such as a starship, for contraband and seizing any that was located, including the possible impounding of the starship itself.

Bajoran law disallowed groundless search and seizure of vessels within a certain area. Kira Nerys informed Commander Kaybok of this in 2372 when his ship, the IKS M'Char, was attempting to detain the SS Xhosa to look for Changeling infiltrators. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
