Seam

A seam was a place where two or more parts of an item were joined together.

One who was trying to find flaws with a belief could be said to be "trying to find the seams in the bunny suit". (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")

A ship that was on the verge of breaking into pieces was said to be coming apart at the seams. (ENT: "Countdown", "Zero Hour", TNG: "Evolution", "Relics")

In 2270, Montgomery Scott noticed a seam on a serpent statue in Kukulkan's city and surmised that the head could be turned. (TAS: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth")

In 2374, Elim Garak studied Miles O'Brien's torn Starfleet uniform and assured him it would be easy to fix, as it had ripped on the seam. Unfortunately for O'Brien, Garak was without his sewing kit. (DS9: "Rocks and Shoals")
