The science log was the log utilized by a science officer aboard a Federation starship.
In 2361, the USS Potemkin made science logs during its mission to Nervala IV. In 2369, these logs were mentioned in the graphic "Analysis Records 889102". (TNG: "Second Chances")
At least one entry was made to the science log aboard the USS Enterprise-D by Lieutenant Commander Data. (TNG: "The Offspring")
