Scenic route

The scenic route was a way of arriving at a destination that was valued for its scenery rather than expediency.

In 2152, Captain Jonathan Archer advised Trip Tucker not to take the scenic route to Enterprise NX-01's engineering section, as his EV suit offered him only 22 minutes of protection. (ENT: "The Catwalk")

In 2377, Tom Paris remarked while USS Voyager was pursuing a Hirogen ship that they weren't taking the scenic route. Chakotay reminded him that they weren't there to appreciate the view. (VOY: "Flesh and Blood")
