Scalding

Scalding was a form of thermal burn resulting from heated fluids.

Vulcans could handle temperatures that would scald a Human without pain. (SNW: "Charades")

In 2373, Quark believed that he could send Thopok "slink[ing] away like a scalded targ" by daring the Klingon to kill him. (DS9: "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places")

In 2375, Fesek believed that Pelk was probably scalded when a conduit ruptured. (VOY: "Juggernaut")
