Sanctuary (Kwejian)

The Sanctuary was an inland forested area on one of planet Kwejian's continents, where the native Kwejian people resided. It was protected by a defense system that occluded sensor readings by bouncing the signals across multiple locations, prevented transporter function, and shielded the surface from orbital bombardment.

In 3189, Cleveland Booker and Commander Michael Burnham visited the Sanctuary in response to a message sent by Kyheem, the Steward of the Sanctuary. Osyraa of the Emerald Chain had ordered Kyheem to deliver his brother to her; when he hesitated, she began carpet-bombing the Sanctuary from her flagship, the Viridian. The defense systems nearly failed before the Viridian's weapons were disabled by Booker's ship. (DIS: "The Sanctuary")
