Sacrifice

Sacrifice was the act of taking the death for somebody.

Sacrifice was one of the six trials of the path to Kal'Hyah, the others being deprivation, blood, pain, anguish and death. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited")

In 2380, just moments before saving Sam Rutherford's life aboard a Pakled ship, Shaxs sacrificed his life to save Rutherford's, but not before saying his final words: "Hang in there, Baby Bear!" (LD: "No Small Parts")
