Ruth Banks Mataya is an actress who played a Starfleet Headquarters civilian in the Star Trek: Picard first season episode "Maps and Legends". As a background performer, she was not credited in the role.

She appeared in background roles in the films Clemency (2019, starring Alfre Woodard and Aldis Hodge, featuring Michelle C. Bonilla, and stunts by Eric Watson), and Dolemite Is My Name (2019, again with stunts by Eric Watson). She can also be seen in episodes of the sitcoms Bob Hearts Abishola and Superstore, and the 2020 reboot of Perry Mason (with Stephen Root), as well as in commercials and music videos, inluding "Wolves" by Big Sean ft. Post Malone.

Besides her acting work, she also works as a tax consultant in Long Beach, California.
