Ritt Henn (born 31 August 1958; age 66) is a professional jazz bass player who portrayed an alien bassoonist in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "In Theory". Henn filmed his scenes on Thursday 4 April 1991 on Paramount Stage 8 and is listed as "sideline musician" on the call sheet.

Henn started playing bass in high school. He graduated from the Bucknell University with a degree in music and psychology and continued to play bass in coffee houses and lounges. His further career credits include shows and tours with artists such as Buddy Rich, Michael Jackson, Chuck Berry, Tom Jones, Margaret Whiting, Christine Lavin, Soupy Sales, and Ben E. King, as well as performances in Broadway plays and on several festivals across the world.

Since 1993 he is producing a public access television series, A Man, a Bass & a Box of Stuff, later known as ManBassBoxTV, a show which featured independent artists and Henn himself. So far, he released three solo albums in 1996, 2000, and 2007, and wrote "Chart Writing Made Easy", an instructional tome. Henn received a Drama Logue Award, a Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Songwriter Instrumentalist, and a MAC Award for Best New York Debut-Male. [1]

In addition to his The Next Generation appearance, Henn portrayed musicians in Wild Bill (1995, with Keith Carradine, Merritt Yohnka, Jim Wilkey, Chris Doyle, Anthony De Longis, Bill Bolender, and Michael Papajohn) and Across the Universe (2007).
