Remix

A remix was a variation on a theme comprised of elements from previous works, rather than an original creation.

In 2382, William Boimler complained about the multiverse being made of different versions of familiar people: "That's all the multiverse is! Just lazy derivative remixes!" (LD: "Fissure Quest")

Beginning with its fourth season, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine used a remix of its theme song featuring more backing instrumentals and a faster pace, highlighting the busy space station that Deep Space 9 had become.
