Remedial education

Remedial education was special educational assistance for students with difficulties making the grade.

In 2373, Richard Bashir attempted to justify seeking genetic engineering for his son Julian Bashir, saying that Julian would have needed remedial education all his life otherwise. Julian then retorted that his father hadn't known for certain that it would have been necessary. (DS9: "Doctor Bashir, I Presume")
