The Red Sea was a sea in Egypt parted by Moses in Exodus 14:21 of the Bible.

It was alluded to in the script for DS9: "The Sword of Kahless", which described Kor's raised hands towards the Bajoran wormhole as being like "Moses parting the Red Sea."
