Raymond Stella
Raymond Stella (born 4 December 1946; age 78) is a former camera operator and cinematographer, who acted as camera operator on the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine third season episodes "Family Business" and "Shakaar", substituting for regular camera operator Kris Krosskove, who was acting as director of photography for those episodes.
Much of Stella's career as a camera operator was spent working under cinematographer Dean Cundey, on films including Halloween (1978), The Fog (1980, with Adrienne Barbeau), Escape from New York (1981, with Barbeau, and edited by Todd Ramsay), Halloween II (1981), Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982, co-produced by Jeffrey Chernov), The Thing (1982, with David Clennon, also edited by Ramsay), Psycho II (1983, with Oz Perkins, and with music by Jerry Goldsmith), and all three Back to the Future films (1985-90, starring Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Thomas F. Wilson).
Stella moved up to cinematographer for Cundey's directoral debut, Honey We Shrunk Ourselves (1997), and also acted as cinematographer for the latter seasons of the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and several other films including House of the Dead 2 (2005, written and produced by Mark A. Altman). He also regularly acted as a second unit cinematographer on both feature films and TV shows up until the end of the 2000s.
