Randy McIlvain (born 8 February 1948; age 77) was the art director for all seven seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He earned an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the pilot episode, "Emissary", shared with production designer Herman Zimmerman and set decorator Mickey S. Michaels.

He went on the share three more Emmy nominations with Zimmerman and set decorator Laura Richarz for their work on the episodes "Trials and Tribble-ations", "Far Beyond the Stars", and "Prodigal Daughter". He and Zimmerman also shared the inaugural ADG Excellence in Production Design Award from the Art Directors Guild in 1996 for their work on the series. After Deep Space Nine ended in 1999, McIlvain worked on seven episodes of Star Trek: Voyager the following year.

Career

Prior to Deep Space Nine, McIlvain worked on Paramount Television's Marblehead Manor (starring Linda Thorson and Phil Morris). He then worked with Herman Zimmerman on the 1991 film All I Want for Christmas, featuring Andrea Martin and Camille Saviola.

Randy's other credits include Mork & Mindy (starring Robin Williams), Webster, and Amen.

McIlvain's only additional credit since his work on Voyager has been The Animal (2001), on which he served as set designer.
