Radiation breach

A radiation breach was a situation where radiation leaked through protection into a ship, similar to a hull breach, though not necessarily compromising the structural integrity of the hull.

In 3189, Cleveland Booker took his ship into the Verubin Nebula when the USS Discovery was too large to navigate the radiation hazards. Booker's shields only protected from the radiation for a brief time before a radiation breach began adversely affecting Booker and Grudge. (DIS: "Su'Kal")
