Queen (insect)

A queen was the female leader of a colony of insects.

In 2350, when young Annika Hansen asked whether the Borg Queen had a throne, her mother Erin explained that they believed she was similar to the queen of an insect colony, in that she coordinated the actions of the drones. (VOY: "Dark Frontier")
