Quantum mechanics (department)

Quantum mechanics was a department aboard the Starfleet ships USS Voyager and USS Enterprise-D, dealing with quantum mechanics.

In 2369, Nella Daren, the new department head of Stellar sciences aboard the Enterprise-D, tried to poach Ensign Cabot from the ship's Quantum mechanics department, claiming that that department was over staffed anyway. It was one of several incidents in which her professional aggressiveness brought her into conflict with her superior, William T. Riker. (TNG: "Lessons")

Another member of the Enterprise-D quantum mechanics department was Anaanda Ziff. (TNG: "Eye of the Beholder")

Late in 2371, Crewman Jarvin had become involved with a female officer stationed in quantum mechanics on the USS Voyager. (VOY: "The 37's")
